District Governor Mohammad Ali visited the Rotary Club of Grimsby Havelok Wednesday 2 july and talked about Rotary’s worldwide vision.

The Rotary organisation has 1.2million members worldwide and is unique in having local people on the ground in the vast majority of places where ther are needs from hunger and deprivation and disaster.
If Rotarians provide insecticide-treated bed nets, fewer children will succumb to malaria. If they dig wells and address sanitation problems, more children will have clean water to drink and more hygienic surroundings. If Rotary clubs carry out effective nutrition projects, they can save some of the almost five million children who die each year from undernourishment.
Mohammad was himself astounded by the figure – of how many children die each day from preventable causes, 30,000.
Rotary’s main mission for the coming year was to complete the work on the total eradication of Polio on the world, Rotary International has almost reached this fantastic target.
